For the Perceptive Music Listener

Hey guys, welcome! Through The Noise exists to promote substantial music that adds value to the listener. Too often we hear songs that elevate complacency amidst our complex world so, in my playlists and blog, you will find none of that. Instead, I want to show you music that adds something meaningful to the world rather than joining the rest of the commotion. We’re cutting Through The Noise.

I hope at this point in your relationship with Through The Noise you’ve had a chance to look at the playlists that I’ve curated. If you’ve done so, you noticed a country playlist, then a hip-hop playlist, and then one centered on actively loving others. But then you eventually stumbled across one…

You're Being Manipulated

I’m curious: when you think of the word manipulation, what comes to mind? Do you think of a toxic relationship? Do you think of an intrusive salesman? Or do you think of the puppy eyes you used to give your parents when you wanted to have a piece of your Easter candy?…

2020 sucked for many reasons and for many people. But as a result of being locked up in my house for several months, I found so many cool artists of whom I am now a huge fan. Most notably, I discovered Tenille Townes. After my cousin recommended her music to me, I…

ArtGPT?

So I have this friend who’s way smarter than me—like going to Carnegie Mellon University for his masters in computer science smart. His big interest is artificial intelligence (AI) so he was pretty pumped this past fall. He called me up to tell me about this program that could spit out a…

Embracing Negativity

When I was in middle school I started hearing the name NF buzz around quite a bit. At the time he had probably only released Mansion and Therapy Session, and while a lot of my friends listened to him, it just didn’t stick for me. I remember one time in eighth grade…

In case you haven’t heard, Macklemore released a new, “self-titled” album on Friday so I was very excited when I had a 4-hour drive and an opportunity to listen to it yesterday. Overall, it’s legitimately a good album and very much in line with Macklemore’s style, but I NEED is hands down…

Soak Up Every Moment

This week I called my great grandma like I always strive to do. As usual, she didn’t keep me very long saying three minutes into the conversation, “well, everything’s good here”, and then me finding some way creative way to keep the conversation going even two minutes longer. But this time I…

Why Create?

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I would love to create something and share it with the world”? Maybe it was music that inspired you to write songs. Maybe it was YouTube that inspired you to make videos. Maybe it was a picture that inspired you to be an artist. Or maybe…

About

Noah Wiley, Playlist Curator and Primary Contributor

Hey, I’m a business administration student at Messiah University and will be graduating in May of this year (2023). Inspired by Jon Foreman, I always thought it would be cool to drop out of college, but it’s starting to look like a lost dream.

Really though, school does not define me. I’m very much interested in business, but my other passions include my faith, friends, and football (that’s accidental alliteration right there). Oh, and music!

After several years of listening to music on my own Spotify account (forget sharing one with your brothers), I started to notice some common themes amongst the songs that I listened to. Often times this theme would stretch into a diverse set of genres, but its impact on me remained. Finding value in these songs, I began making playlists to compile them and planned to one day share them for the benefit of others. Well, here we are today and I’m glad to have your interest! For real, my hope is that these playlists and written thoughts will serve as a medium between you and the blessing of these artist’s work.
